Catholic “Fortnight for Freedom” this summer

It’s not just extreme factions of conservative Christianity trying to spark nationwide revivals. The Catholic church is getting into the act with their newly-announced “Fortnight for Freedom.” From the just-released Statement on Religious Liberty:

In particular, we recommend to our brother bishops that we focus “all the energies the Catholic community can muster” in a special way this coming summer. As pastors of the flock, our privileged task is to lead the Christian faithful in prayer.

Both our civil year and liturgical year point us on various …

Chicago 50

Starting today, the NAR and associated groups are organizing a new prayer campaign aimed at Chicago. It will have the same duration and organization as the DC 40 initiative. They’re even using the same handbook.

This is not as obviously an attack on separation of church and state (although they still want to destroy that), but I find it offensive in a different way. The proclaimed “target” of this prayer war is corruption. Their materials equate corruption with both gang involvement (rather than seeing it as …

Celebration of the Divine Feminine

(Here’s a short report on the Celebration of the Divine Feminine and Religious Freedom. I apologize for the delay. I was sick yesterday and am extremely busy today and tomorrow; I’ll get pictures up as soon as I can. – Lit)

Katrina Messenger and Caroline Kenner led a beautiful ritual on Sunday. After everyone’s attention was centered with the ringing of a singing bowl, Caroline opened the event, and Katrina spoke about how important it was to honor the legacy of the Queen of Heaven. Since …

FIGHTING BACK: INDIGENOUS RELIGIONS TAKE A STAND AGAINST DC40
“The New Apostolic Reformations’s DC40 Campaign is anti-American and anti-human.”

The Turtle Island 42 Initiative (TI42) has been created out of the work of contemporary Pagans and Heathens, polytheists, and indigenous elders in response to the New Apostolic Reformation movement’s upcoming onslaught against religious liberty, titled DC40.  TI42 is being facilitated by Rev. Galina Krasskova, a …

Evangelical leader urges followers to vote for Christians – not Mormons

Rev. Robert Jeffress, a prominent evangelical pastor, today endorsed Rick Perry and said that his fellow Christians should vote for Perry over Mitt Romney because Romney is a Mormon. Jeffress described Mormonism as “not Christian” and “a cult.”

The Values Voter Summit, a gathering of conservatives and evangelicals banding together for political purposes, began today, and no one has made more noise than Jeffress – except perhaps Mitt Romney’s deafening silence in the face of repeated attacks on his religion. Jeffress introduced Rick Perry and said …

DC 40 Prayer Guide Parts 2 and 3

DC 40 has released the second and third parts of the prayer guide meant to coordinate the prayers of the national effort. It includes suggested prayers against pluralism and tolerance, with specific days about Freemasonry, Islam, “Baal worship,” public schools, and the environmental movement. Several themes from the first part show up here again as well, with the overall result being promotion of a culture and society that are permeated by extremely conservative Christian attitudes and requirements.

Day 13 is set aside for prayer against “Thinking …

DC 40 Releases First Part of Prayer Guide

Although James Nesbit, director of DC 40, spent as much space in his newsletter yesterday addressing Pagans as he did writing to his own followers, he also announced the release of the first part of the DC 40 prayer guide, which demonstrates the initiative’s commitment to the principles of Christian Dominionism.

The guide is entitled Declaration of Dependence: How To Heal Our Nation Through Prayer and written by Dr. Marlene McMillan. It is also being released as a book, but the PDF “sneak peek” on the …
